[27 Dec 2009|12:01am] unhappyending [ mood | curious ] Something I forgot to say in my previous post: I went to see Avatar with my Mom yesterday and I thought it was actually kind of fucking awesome. I may have been swayed by all the EXTREMELY PRETTY AND AMAZING special effects/3-D, but I wasn't bored by the story at all and I was engaged for the whole film, as long as it was. I do see why all of the comparisons to certain other movies are being made - *cough*Pocahontas*cough* - but I still enjoyed it. I know it was not a very original story, but it could have been way worse. Am I alone in this? I've heard so many people say they didn't like it. I totally 'ship Jake/Neytiri. post comment

Christmas, etc. [26 Dec 2009|08:31pm] unhappyending [ mood | pleased ] Hello my friends! Did you all have a wonderful Christmas? I hope so! What did everyone get this year? I made out pretty well. I got some small things, such as mittens, perfume, a calendar, candy and I also got Wii Sports Resort, which I'd asked for. The other "big" thing I got is money. I got $400 in total, because I really wanted to get a new TV for our living room. We have a crappy old tube TV and for all the TV I watch I think it's definitely worth investing in a nicer flat screen TV. I knew that there'd be some good sales today (Boxing Day), so I decided I'd buy one. I found a 42" Samsung Plasma HD 720p television at Best Buy for $549, which was a savings of $300. I really, really wanted this TV so I convinced my good friend rainbowslushie to get up at 4:30am to go and stand in line with me. It was ungodly early. But there was already quite a line when we got there at 4:45am. The store opened at 6:00am, so we had to wait outside for a while and it was rainy and cold. However, it was worth it because I managed to get the TV!! I'm so excited about setting it up. They did this kind of "ticket" system in line where they gave out papers saying the item you came for and if you had one of the papers then you were guaranteed the item. I'm glad I got the one I wanted. By 6:00am, the line was all the way around the store through the parking lot. I honestly didn't think that many people would come out at such an early hour, so I was surprised. But, YAY SHINY NEW TV! And I was worried because I don't have a stand to put it on but it turns out my parents still have their old one which is in amazing condition and they said I could have it for free! And lauresque might be hooking me up with a shiny new smart phone! So I am in new electronic toy heaven. I'm probably going to bug my parents to take me back to Kitchener tomorrow afternoon when I finish my laundry. I'm currently on rainbowslushie's computer waiting for Ian to come over so we can play Harry Potter Clue. It has been a good weekend so far! Whoops [18 Dec 2009|10:25pm] unhappyending [ mood | full ] [ music | Wham! - Last Christmas ] Seems I got a bit behind on the 30 Days Meme. I apologize! I was thinking I'd catch up on it right now, but then I remembered that I'm too tired and unenthused. Today was very frustrating and it sucked for the most part. I got yelled at a few times, by customers and by one of my bosses, which was fun. And my computer froze twice, which really, really sucks when you're in the middle of a transaction and you have to re-start and then re-do the transaction only to find that you don't have enough information and have to leave two messages on someone's machine to call you so that you can finish the transaction. Yeah. Good times. I'm still quite tired from work, but I am happy that I don't have to work very much the next two weeks. My schedule is like this: tomorrow work 9-1, off Sunday, work Monday, work Tuesday, off Wednesday, work Thursday 9-3:30 [we close early for Christmas Eve], off Friday, Saturday, Sunday AND Monday, work Tuesday, off Wednesday, work Thursday [again, we close early due to NYE], off Friday, work Saturday, off Sunday. YAY! I'm happy that I have some time off to enjoy. I can't believe Christmas is only a week away! Tomorrow night is my annual cookie exchange party with family and friends, which I'm excited for. I hope everyone is getting close to being ready for Christmas! I'm going to go and get some sleep. \o/ post comment
